"This pier was made for the people interested in being close to the deep waters without going into it. Whether it is to just observe the view or clear your head, the arches/portals create frames that cut people from a 360 view and make people focus only on what is in front of them, the water/horizon. The light penetrates into the portals which guide the users on where to look and go as well as creating playful shadows.

For the proposed materials of the structure, the walls with the portals would be made out of concrete with dark greyish blue inside and outside borders, metal for the frame of the walkable area, and light-colored woven metal wires.

The woven metallic floor makes reference to the woven ropes found on boats. The arches represent portals to the sea or lake view providing an immersive experience into the mystical horizon. The initial idea of the portals was from the Étretat arches in Normandy, France."

What did you learn from using the Prown analysis method to give feedback?

I learned to provide feedback in layers. I really liked it as it was at first direct feedback, and then more step-backed reflection. The only thing I didn't like was that it was online and wished to have feedback in person as it's usually more developed and interactive.

What is your response to the feedback you received?

I did think about painting the whole structure but the choice of painting just the borders and insides was thought about. I should have justified it in my product description.

I think adding color to the rest of the walls would alter the contrast already present in the structure with the concrete and dark greyish-blue borders and insides. Or if so, maybe a color completely different like red or orange.
